No question, the Paranid Prometheus is the ultimate combat ship of the M3 class of ships. Even if it can not hold the candle to the rate of speed and agility of the Split Mamba. Nevertheless it has a set of full strengths shields of 50MW and is faster and more agile than the M3 ships of all other well-known races. A substantial advantage are the closely spaced laser bays, which steer each salvo exact towards its target. Last but not least, the large missile bays in the far apart laying side structures have to be mentioned, which can take up even the heavy missiles of the Hornet type.

Fast, agile, good clear cockpit view, good closely grouped cannon spacing, shields about average for a heavy fighter, however the cargo space is dismal which restricts it to short range hops, not enough space for hyperjumps, and its a pricey ship too. They make good AI capital ship / station defenders.

The Prometheus is arguably the purest fighter craft out there, following as it does the philosophy "if you want to tow cargo around, buy a TS". It is sleek and fast, and its weapon placement is chosen so the pilot can concentrate on blasting the enemy to smithereens rather than trying to decide which side to fire in order to hit him.
